Domestic - International Transfer at Perth

We are doing a similar transfer on flight QF SYD-PER and continuing on separate ticket with MH PER-KUL. We have 3 hours between flights.

I am wondering should we come a day earlier to PER. Or how risky is it to have 3 hour time?

We have some experience that even if separate tickets they can check in the luggage to final destination if all flights are one world partners.

The post before yours was 2010. Since then QF operations at PER have changed due to the new MEL-PER-LHR flight (QF09/QF10)

Flights SYD<---->PER are subject to prevailing winds. Due to this the flight times can vary a lot at some times of the year. SYD to PER is flying into the prevailing wind (can be longer flight time than scheduled)

QF will not through check baggage on separate itineraries, unless QF-->QF, QF-->EK or QF award flight
Link---> QF- no checking of luggage separate itineraries from 1 Sep [2016 some exceptions]

The domestic & international terminals are some distance apart.

MH also fly from ADL MEL SYD BNE

[mod hat] I separated these two posts from their original home, an old 2010 thread. [/mod hat]

as always 3 hours is doable if your flight lands on time.
i would say the min would be 2hours (this would be quite rushed).
so your buffer is 1 hour.

nb this is not the most convenient transfer as the terminals are around 15mins drive apart...
