Actually it's impossible with Qantas. Doing a status run is the best and cheapest way to get status to use to your advantage.

As a last resort, asking at the Qantas club or business lounge for an upgrade can sometimes nab the 1 remaining seat.

Regards,

Michael

So today Platinums got their upgrades - must be lots of them, now only 5 seats left. I get gold in Feb so I guess as a silver there really is little hope!

Excellent. Just remember that life will never be the same again after getting the front cabin - ie you’ll want it every time

ahhh - the difficulties of working off an iPhone (not immediately seeing that detail). Perhaps QF check in staff can move them to their preferred seat - they did to us so the crew and their mates could all sit together at the back of the cabin and have a great time!

May I ask, what has that got to do with the price of soap?
