Qantas poor flight experience
Hi all. First time I flew Qantas and had a bad experience. Here is what happened. MEL-LAX in business class; seat was broken so Qantas bumped me off the flight. Had to then fly to SYD (all flights from MEL to USA were sold out) and spend the night there. Next day, SYD-DFW in business class; 2 out of 4 bathrooms broken and internet was unavailable for the entire flight.
Is there any form of compensation I can get? Also, is it possible to earn Avios on BA (Gold status) for these flights and compensation? Thank you for your help. |

If QF paid for the SYD hotel, doubt you will get much in the way of compensation. Unfortunately Australia (& USA) does not have EC261/2004 type legislation. If this was a cash paid flight you can earn BA avois as QF is a BA partner (Oneworld) Look in the BA web site to retro claim. |
Qantas doesn’t have internet on its international flights |
Unfortunate but better than flying in a broken seat - sometimes you just get unlucky.
As above Qantas has no internet on any of its international flights (and only on about half its 737 domestic and a smaller number of 330a) (and won't have internet internationally for a few years until a new satellite is launched) As Qantas is a member of oneworld you can credit flights to BA Avios. |

I travelled QF126 J Class AKL/BNE yesterday, A330-200 series, why then, if wifi is not available on QF internationally, do they advise passengers that wifi is available on this flight and they also show a video giving instructions on how to connect to it ????

It was definitely for Wi-Fi internet access. The Cabin Manager announced the facility and then followed it up with a video. I followed the instructions but it wouldn't connect so I shrugged it off and continued enjoying the QF service

Possibly a mistaken CSM.
The inflight Internet had only just been turned on on a small number of 332s... But as it relies on the NBN SkyMuster satellite which has tight beams, it won't work over the water between Australia and NZ |

I flew Sydney-Christchurch last week and the B737 (Mendoowoorrji) was fitted with WiFi, we were told this would work while we were over Australia. |
