So any word yet on Sunday activities? My Platinum status is rock solid having arranged for the weekend off work but I would like to book flights and if required accommodation ASAP.

9 WEEKS to go!
There is a Qantas sale currently that ends in three days; a bit more than other recent one - I can only see it going up given we are only 9 weeks away.

I've booked a return already at ~7pm Sunday.

With my "Dinner organiser hat" in place, I am planning a dinner for around 60-100 for Saturday 24/2/18.
Probably at Hyatt Regency SYD where I hold my annual New Years Day drinks They are great to work with & look to be able to offer us a good deal

More details to follow as the weekend firms up...

Have secured our booking plus good price for 3 course meal plus initial drinks Sat 24/2/18
And, am also trying for an event room block discount

It'll be tough to get a decent discount given the rates I saw. I have changed from the PH [swapping over my Cat 1-7 award. 4 days before expiry on this cat 5 hotel - At least it'll provide a night credit].

Happy New Year to all,
Thanks to storyteller for organizing dinner for the Saturday night.
Was looking through my bookings and what I needed to book to keep my Qantas Gold for another 12 months, so will need to book some flights when I can work out when everyone else decides to book.
Now to work out where to stay as I have no status with any hotel chain, first time in 7 years, my standards are slipping.
