FF Numbers across alliances

I'm wondering how "the system" copes with this scenario:

I have QF and UA FF programs. I'm planning a trip using both QF and *A airlines (via an on-line TA). It would be a single ticket on a single PNR (I assume). Can I record my QF FF number for the QF flight (and duly credit points and SCs) and also have my UA FF number for the remainder of the flights on *A airlines?

I have done this via "brick and mortar" TA and it worked. "On-line" TA, I don't know...

FF number is by sector in all modern reservation systems so the capability exists, but most online TA sites don't bother to expose this functionality. I know I've seen some that do, but rare. You have to get a person to make the change (hard at most online sites).

Yes can be done, but usually requires either live (vs online) TA or phoning the relevant airline (note you need their PNR which may differ from the one given by the ticket seller).

Alternatively, wait until check in to add the FFP.

Thanks all. Its moot now. QF offered a 332 SYD-SIN in J whereas SQ offered a 388. Too much risk of the crappy old 332 hard product.

I'll forego 2 hrs of delights in the QF SYD Flounge and the risk of old SkyBed Mk1 for certainty of the 8 hr SQ J product (and a better timetable).

I've alway wondered this for QF tickets ex-NZ where the regional flight is on NZ then TT on QF. Got one of these next week.
