Booking row 2 C&D (exit row) on Dash-8 400
Are seats 2 C&D (exit row) on the Dash-8 400's blocked until airport check in or can they be selected during online check in 24-hours in advance? I just checked in right at the 24-hour mark for a flight tomorrow and both exit rows 1 & 2 show as occupied/not available already. Seems impossible all exit seats could already been taken when check in just opened and seats cannot be pre-assigned until 24-hours before flight. Thanks in advance for help!

Depends on the port.
Generally WPs are assigned front row ex SYD, but for example PQQ will block front row until airport check in.
You may have some luck at check in asking for front row as I notice many non status holders being moved to these seats.
