Ummm, I think I'm on the fence on that bit. At least there is usually somewhere to sit at QF NRT lounge. There was usually none on Friday evenings at CBR QP.
Exactly. It does not help the JQ pax at NRT T3 at all.

Can I access a lounge?
I am flying Melbourne to Narita J on JAL. I then have a flight from Narita to KIX on Jetstar (JAL does not fly from Narita to KIX). I am qantas gold. I will have three hour stop over and would like to use the lounge in terminal 2. Is this possible?

Flying Jetstar only allows access to QF lounges when they pay for the relevant bundle. With Jetstar in T3 at NRT, there is no way to access the QF lounge in T2 as it is behind immigration and you are on a domestic flight.
If you were on one of the JL NRT-ITM flights, you would have access to the JL domestic lounge in T2, or you could have used the bus to connect to HND and used the near hourly HND-ITM flights.
JL has 2 daily NRT-ITM, 3 daily HND-KIX and 15 daily HND-ITM flights, for 20 daily flights between Tokyo and Osaka. With any of those flights, your Qantas Gold would get you access to the JL domestic Sakura lounges.
