Thanks for posting that image, MartinMemo!! Given the likelihood of inclement weather, waiting under the car park edifice will keep everybody dry. The travel time from QP (or Gate) to the meeting point is about 12 minutes.

For the travellers being ferried, you'll need to look out for:

QF WP: silver Subaru Forester
FlashKiwi: double cab ute (Grey VW Amarok with Canopy) or possibly a Blue Golf
MartinMemo: dark green (almost black) Mitsubishi Pajero

Thanks to FlashKiwi, we will be linked via Glympse, so will know where each of us is at any given point. Sounds a bit like James Bond

Everything is coming together. RGM commented by email this afternoon:

all going well and ids are with security and the names are on the door at the lounge.

Suggested pick up time for Group 3 is 1:45pm [I'll pick you up or you can opt to get a taxi]

Head down in the lifts to the lower floor and then walk along the inside of the carpark until you reach that area.

QF WP... silver Subaru Forester
So confirming that I'm being picked up by QF WP in a silver Subaru Forester at 145pm at The "PICK UP WAITING AREA" at the Western end of the car-park?

In response to my question to the RGM:
Let’s hope the Cyclone doesn’t delay too many flights.
{meaning those on Saturday}

Am so looking forward to this trip and tour.

Has there been any word yet on whether cameras are permitted?

SQ421, that sounds like a good plan to me.

Check post #246 - would appear most likely 'yes, but no flash'. Bring it along worst that can happen is they say no.

Interesting ... predicted track puts it over Gatton¹ at 4pm Saturday ...

Google Earth: http://www.usno.navy.mil/NOOC/nmfc-p...ngs/sh1315.kmz

¹ Gatton is approx 75km (ATCF) West of Brisbane CBD.

Tropical Cyclone Marcia

Weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Marcia are likely to disrupt the travel arrangements for a number of Qantas Customers travelling to/from Brisbane...

QF WP, is the hangar tour going ahead regardless of heavy rain? Looks like there will be delays, even cancellations, flying into Bne...I will see if QF will let me change my flight tomorrow to the one 1 hour earlier that I'm currently on....

There wont really be any way to know till the day. I suspect that if it looks as though the tour will be cancelled that Red Roo will give us a heads up at least a few hours before. If this is the case, i'll ditch the car and catch the train up to have drinks in the QP with you lot.
