QF-CX DOM-INT transit luggage [at BNE]

I've got SYD-BNE on QF and BNE-HKG on CX, separate booking.
Does QF do DOM-INT luggage transfer or I has to claim baggage at BNE and re check in?

No OW transfer on separate reservation. Claim and check in with CX.

Thanks. So it seems I will need to allow extra time between connection.

I do remember BNE has separate terminal building for DOM and INT, which a shuttle bus was needed, am I right?

Yes: physically separate terminals, but not as bad as SYD.

Click on "transfer information" http://www.bne.com.au/passenger-information

And look here Airport info BRISBANE (BNE) - amenities, transfers, transport

Unless one is an award and the other a commercial/paid booking (in theory they have stated they will allow transfers between these types of bookings).

Really?

The QF leg between SYD-BNE will be reward booking using MPC points (I could use QF points if that will help with transfer) and the CX leg BNE-HKG will be a paid ticket.

If it's physically separated terminals, how could it be better than SYD?

Maybe, maybe not. There is documentation indicating that this is a policy. There is no guarantee though that the agent checking you in will do this ....
