Current status of refurb
A330-300 6 / 10 - QPA, QPB, QPC, QPD, QPE, QPI
A330-200 7 / 18 - EBA, EBB, EBF, EBJ, EBK, EBS, EBV

Sadly SYD-PER doesn't see the upgrade birds often enough... And based on prioritising 333's it's not like it will change any time soon

According to ExpertFlyer my flight SIN-BNE for a few weeks time has changed to a 27J 332. Am I right in thinking this is just a refitted 332 with 7K missing? (that is what the ExpertFlyer seat map suggests). What is in that space? Galley? Storage? Crew rest?

I believe on certain International flights thats a designated crew rest.

So it is the same plane and seat 7K is physically there but it is reserved for crew rest. That makes sense.

Do people recommend the main cabin (rows 1-6) or the minicabin (rows 7-8) on the 332?

Definitely the forward business cabin. The rear business cabin is immediately in front of the first row of economy, which also has bassinet seats, so you could potentially suffer from more noise.

Interesting, I actually like the feel of the small, private cabin.

QF23 SYD-BKK like all routes is not guaranteed.

Last 32 days (from theqantassource.com route tracker)
- 3 non-refurb 330-200s
- 16 non-refurb 330-300s
- 13 refurb 330-300s

So probably a lower hit rate than most routes with 6 of 9 active 330-300s refurbed (there are 10 -300s but QPF is presently under maintenance)
However by mid-Feb we are likely to be at 8 of 9 (possibly 9 of 9 depending on the order they are completed - QPH/QPJ shouldn't need C8 checks so will be quicker) so the chances will be higher, but still not guaranteed.

(And Congrats on your First Post on Flyertalk, hopefully it won't be another 6 years until your next one!)

Am crossing all my fingers the flight will be with the refurbished seats. It's showing the old config at the moment.

QF426 MEL-SYD on A330 Business Suites


Even if its just over an hour flight, i still want to try the new product..
Would be a nice transition from SQ F seats from MNL-SIN-MEL

Haven't tried QF Lounge, but is there a separate lounge from Qantas Club?
