Lounge access at Dubai

My father is travelling Oz-London later this year, booked in Economy MEL-DXB on QF9 and connecting on to LHR on QF1, so he'll have a good 90 minutes between flights at Dubai. He has no QF or oneworld status, however he does have a couple of Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations.

The T&Cs state that they are valid for use at 'The Qantas Club, including Qantas operated International Business Lounges', but given the breadth of the new partnership with Emirates, I'm wondering if validity may extend to the Emirates Business Lounge at Dubai?

Anyone with thoughts or with success using these passes at Dubai?

I very much doubt it... It is definitely not a Qantas operated lounge

Another 'enhancement' to the Kangaroo Route I suppose.

Lounge access at Dubai

I seriously doubt it. Regardless with a 90 minute connection at DXB I don't think it will be a deal breaker and those passes would IMHO be put to much better use at MEL pre-departure with a spare for another flight if he's traveling solo

Thanks for the responses, I suspected as much but I guess hoped that he may have used the lounge pass in Dubai, primarily to shower and refresh.

The connection between flights is about 2hr 20mins, but it's not the end of the world. I'm sure he'll enjoy the Qantas Club at Melbourne prior to departure.

Thanks again.

I would have thought that the pass would get you. The are special provisions for Qantas Club members to get access to the Emirates Dubai lounge that don't apply to other Emirates lounges, to me those one off passes are the equivalent of a one use Qantas Club card.

I would certainly ask.
