Claiming missing AA points

Is there a time period before QF will accept missing points claims? I am attempting to get points from a US domestic flight in mid February and the consistent web response is "We are unable to action your request at this time. Try again later." All flights around this one particular flight had points post correctly within a few days of each flight.

If there is indeed a time period before points claims are accepted, perhaps this could be added to the "we are unable..." message.

I thought that there was a 2 week period

Perhaps phone QFF and do missing points request over the phone?

Thanks Dave. I did have this total trust in the web site :D. Time to get on the phone....

Unrelated, it is interesting how comprehensive the drop down menus for cities is in the missing points section of the QF web site, but also how abbreviated this list is if you dare to try to book award flights.

My understanding is that it isn't an accident that the award booking list is not as comprehensive as it could be

I received this same message for weeks, and it turned out that Qantas had marked the flight as claimed on another FF program.

They couldn't tell me which program - was it AA? BA? "Sorry, we don't know". Was booked in a fare class that didn't earn miles on the other programs, so looking on the AA/BA web sites didn't help.

I never gave my AA/BA numbers at any time for the entire itinerary (had BP with no FF # on it), but had recently claimed AA miles for a totally unrelated QF itinerary months earlier. So my only theory is human error.
