Why so difficult ...

I am letting off steam here because after numerous attempts to have missing points allocated to my Qantas FF account it seems they are falling on deaf ears.
Jetstar Mastercard obviously outsources the call centre as it is so difficult to understand the staff - I am still waiting on entry bonus points, plus usage points and another bonus for spending over $5,000.
The statement came in a month ago and has been paid - I received an email while I was overseas to say there was a problem with linking to QFF - so while on my holiday in France I spent time on the phone sorting it out - to be told it was all fixed and the points were going in.
On returning home last week I find no points have been allocated and the following statement has been issued for payment.
My husband joined at the same time as me on a separate account and has received his bonus entry points plus spending allocation over a month ago.
I have called no less than nine times - always to be told they will be in my account shortly.
The last call I was told it was not their issue but Qantas - so then I call Qantas who say there is no link to Jetstar Mastercard at all - so they can't do anything and put me back to Jetstar MC who then put me back to Qantas again who then insist that the credit card company have a supervisor sort it out and not keep putting their client back to Qantas.

It comes down to the fact that the seats in J have been released for April 2013 and my husband has one seat already allocated and I have more than enough points with this amount due to secure the other single J seat left on that flight next to my husband.
There was also a Premium Economy seat left but that has now gone - so we are crossing fingers on ONE J seat on that flight which I need to secure.

I have to sit in J because of my hip - it's a 14 hour flight London to Singapore ... okay to do economy on the shorter flights but we have saved points for this reason - and signed on to the card for the bonus points for that reason.

The last conversation resulted in the supervisor saying the points would be in my account today.
They aren't.

After nine calls and three emails and much frustration I am no better off. There is one seat available which could go at any time and would then result in me not being able to attend my graduation in London. I can't afford to purchase seats in PE or J.

Kudos to the Qantas staff who tried valiantly to get Jetstar Mastercard staff to be compassionate and try and activate the link - however they are like robots and don't seem to care at all.

We don't have any family members who can transfer the points in the short term so we are literally stuck on a wing and a prayer ....

Okay - rant over.

Sorry to read of your troubles - maybe a PM to "Red Roo" pointing this thread can get something happening?

Sorry to hear about your problems.
How many points are you short? Are you able to buy up to secure that fare? (Points + Pay) or even the 20,000 points, one off?

I doubt QANTAS can help much - they just accept orders for points from suppliers.

Who issues the Jetstar MC? Maybe there is a complaints/customer service division within that bank/institution who might be able to help?

I am so happy - the points finally came in - I received another phone call from Qantas today to check on the situation.
No points had been deposited - however while I was talking to the consultant they came in!
I just got the last J seat on the LHR-Sing flight and we are now seated together.

A question - we are both on different booking references - I will ask to be linked together - is there anything else I need to do to ensure we are seated together?

We have seats now Sin-LHR and LHR-Sin in J - however we will have to travel with economy baggage restrictions as the flights Per-Sin and Sin-Per will be a paid economy seat ticket. They will also be separate booking references.
We will fly on the same day Per-Sin and Sin-LHR with a five hour gap in transit ... however on our return it will be LHR-Sin - which arrives at 6.40pm - the flight to Perth is either at midnight or the following evening.

Any advice on the Per-Sin return flights? I would ask for the booking references to be linked on the outgoing journey.

Qantas have been fantastic - the girls all very enthusiastic to help - Jetstar Mastercard not at all.

Certainly ring and get them to link the PNRs - and get QF to link the PNRs of the connecting flights.

This may not stop you being separated - as Mrs og and I found out courtesy of LH in Europe  - and we were on booked on the same PNR (one of us being invol downgraded).

The flights from SIN to PER on QF are depart 1930 (QF78) and 2330 (QF72)

As I normally would either overnight or connect from the CX flight from CMB (arrive 0600) I wasn't really too happy with the schedule change from 0900. So I suppose if you can't convince QF to let you book QF78 I would recommend an overnight. There are some quite nice 3* hotels than are clean and inexpensive. There are also quite a few 1* that are clean and outright cheap (with very small rooms)

The cabin lead FA should be able to assist if the seat issue remains unsolved by the time you board. Most people (at least in Y and non FT addicts :)) aren't that picky about which aisle seat they have - as long as it is in the first Y cabin.

OTOH, I hope MH's entry into OW isn't delayed and that their fares are reasonable.

Happy wandering

Fred
