Childrens programming with "On Q"

Hi

IRC QF is fairly good with kids (packs, atttude etc), but while I worry about the wines, champagnes, mainline films etc, wife worries about films for the two kids. As we are used to flying CX which has excellent choice of Disney and also some kids animated films, what does QF have.

Have checked the website which lists the films (fair enough) but what else is there in terms of TV programming for kids? I imagine they are also good, but wife asked for specifics...

Thanks!

I don't have any specifics for you, but as someone who has travelled extensively with both CX and QF over the last years 3 years with my young daughter, I know both offerings in detail (from economy through to first)

You didn't mention the age group, or the class of travel.

The CX kids pack is better, and the cabin staff probably have the edge in their attitude towards children (if you're non-chinese), but I would say that the QF TV entertainment is better.

Depends on the plane and travel class as well. CX with their old A330s can't compete with QF and their A380s. Although, CX does have childrens size headsets, where QF does not.

I don't rate Disney shows that highly - the QF offering is broader and includes Disney shows as well.

QF usually has a decent collection of TV programming for kids as well including Wiggles etc. There should be enough to keep the little ones (how little?) entertained. I don't remember whether they have any Disney shows as we try to stay clear of them if we can.

Good call on the Disney shows ;)

I would apply the same logic to the Wiggles as well :p

Sorry for omiting details. Children are 3 and 6. Travel is intl in J on 747 and 380.

While at home I like to direct TV in certrain directions, to be honest on the plane whatever keeps them happy and entertained is fine.

Re crews, IMO CX seems to always be good with kids, whereas most of the time QF is good, but sometimes we get what we call the "Kath and Kim" crew (named, after the two pseudo rich female characters) who feel that children should not be in the J cabin.

Thanks!

The AVOD offering for kids on the A380 is outstanding - kills CX. If only they had the kids size headsets.

A lot of 747s have had their AVOD upgraded to the same system the A380 uses.

I have no issue issue with kids in J. I don't even mind children at "fine dining" restaurants (Jacques Reymond in Melbourne), but if they are going to drink Coke at the table, at least put it in a glass and don't leave the can on the table!!!
