JQ A332 VH-EBQ Starclass seat configuration?
Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone has already been on board the new JQ A332 VH-EBQ? From the photos of the exterior (have not seen photos of the interior yet), it looks like this aircraft might be exactly identical to the dreaded QF mainline VH-EBO and VH-EBP. So in this case perhaps the very nice seat 2D might actually have a seat 1D in front, compared to the other JQ A332s in Starclass. Has anyone been on board this aircraft yet? I also wonder whether the Starclass seats on this aircraft are similar to the business class seats of VH-EBO/P instead of the usual Millenium seats instead. Cheers, Gerald |
I haven't been on it - however have been able to pull up information on it from work
It is configured 42J 268Y with Panasonic IFE and laptop power in both classes |
Thanks eoinnz, so I take it that this new JQ A332 VH-EBQ is identical to the QF mainline A332s VH-EBO/P and it has AVOD IFE on board?
Wonder if I would get this bird on the AKL to SIN JQ flight. |
I would say so - it sounds exactly the same, of course there could be a few minor differences.
I imagine it is AVOD but would say that to use it in economy you would have to swipe your credit card as I highly doubt it would be free. |

3K doesn't have any A330's yet. They are operated by VH aircraft.

Cheers, Gerald I think this aircraft was originally meant for the Japanese runs, but it has been spotted on the MEL-SIN rotations (JQ7/8) over the past weeks. As for the seats, it seems to be similar to the EBO/P ones from photos, but I haven't actually been on the QF versions so I can't confirm 100%. However, they are different from the usual Millenium seats. AVOD IFE is available in both *C and Y. eoinnz is correct regarding the use of this system in Y - a swpie of the credit card is needed. They call this the new "pay-per-view" system. |
What is AVOD priceing like?

I imagine it to be exactly the same as other flights. "Pay-per-view" is probably not a very good description of it, since you only need to pay the normal price once to have access to it for the rest of the flight. |

As the SIN routes are operated by 3K wouldn't the rego be Singapore 9V (?) not VH for Australia?
Fortunately, even though in Y, QC prior to departure will ease things somewhat. Cheers, TK |

Blackcloud, I'll let you know how it went after getting back on 16 May ;)

Cheers, TK I take it you have decided against ODU to Starclass if the Y loads are light and can grab a set of seats each for the TK family? I saw the JQA330 yesterday and had a doubletake on what it is doing there. I still wonder if I can do a silly SC run for my 40th, SIN was place of birth, but alas that will be after Mrs Blackcloud's baby bump gets upgrade to Blackcloud jnr. |
Only the 2 of us, and both compact at that. Methinks that that Mrs TK has other plans for whatever the ODU might cost for two of us.
I'll still ask the question, and might conduct covert, black or other 'unsanctioned' operations! |
