AS/LA - FAI-BBA - $1177 one-way - Business / Premium Economy

Just an odd set of fares that has been displaying on Google Flights - Fairbanks, Alaska (FAI) to Balmaceda, Chile (BBA) - $1177 one-way in Alaska Airlines domestic first and LATAM Airlines premium economy via SEA, CUN, LIM, SCL (and PMC - optional). It's odd that OTA's would string together such an itinerary, but interestingly it all works and on several dates in May and June!

FAI-SEA-CUN-LIM-SCL-BBA
8983 Miles / $1177 USD
13.1025 cents per Mile Flown

The better deal is actually CUN to BBA via LIM and SCL on LATAM in premium economy for $504 USD - 4772 miles flown at 10.5616 cents per mile flown and you'd earn 1193 MQD's at a cost of 42.246 cents USD each.

Thanks cruser1 ! I had to look up where is Balmaceda? I have been to Santiago and northern Chile but Patagonia is on the list of places to go. A town with a population of 500 sounds interesting!

https://www.rutadelosparques.org/en/ (Lists Balmaceda as one of the towns within the region)

Keep up the good work and keep cruising!

People from Alaska don't even have to leave the state to see glacier.

JOKE------>
YOU
But jokes aside, BBA is said to be surrounded by incredibly beautiful mountains. Not to mention, you can ride public buses with multiple ferry crossings along Carrera Austral towards PMC. Or go south all the way to O'Higgins and then cross into Argentina by foot combined with ferry.
But this seems to be a combination of multiple fares, doubt you will save anything but negligible taxes by combining them.
