CZ - CDG-AKL - 2264 EUR / $2457 r/t - Business - Very Limited

Very limited is probably an overstatement, but China Southern filed a fare at the end of March for flights from Paris, France (CDG) to Auckland, New Zealand (AKL) and it now has 3 working dates for a monstrously long trip! Haha! The roundtrip price is 2264 EUR or $2457 USD in business.

CZ is such a joke now. You are essentially just buying a cheap lie flat seat but expect to bring your catering.

You are right cruser1, CZ leaves Skyteam? Read in FBs website under the airline partner CZ:
*** Please note: as of 1 April 2024, XP and Elite bonuses will no longer be credited on flights marketed and operated by non-SkyTeam airline partners. ***

I flew them last year from China to AKL. Service was hilariously amateurish but very well intentioned. The seat was great. For the price I had no complaints.

China Southern left SkyTeam on January 1, 2020 (so 4 years ago), but some airlines still have a partnership with CZ, so you can still earn miles. Flying Blue has decided not to award XP for any partners that are not part of the SkyTeam alliance.

The next cheapest fare is $1k more. The are providing this discount so that you can pay top dollar for your own catering / food to bring on-board and you'll likely still save hundreds of dollars!

It was working to SYD and MEL for a similar price a few days ago, but I can't seem to find availability now.
