AA - OGG-GEO - $658 one-way / $1370 roundtrip - Business - 840 TP's

American Airlines - Kahului, Hawaii (OGG) to Georgetown, Guyana (GEO) in business. I have been sitting on this deal for a while and finally have what I want booked so now I'll share!

OGG-GEO - $675 one-way
GEO-OGG - $773 one-way
OGG-GEO - $1369 roundtrip

The maximum number of BA Tier Points possible is 840 with a route - OGG - LAX/PHX - JFK - GEO - JFK - LAX/PHX - OGG, but there are only a few dates that work at a reasonable price. AA also flies to GEO from MIA, so you can route - OGG - LAX - MIA - GEO - MIA - LAX - OGG and earn 640 BA Tier Points. PHX to MIA is less than 2000 miles so avoid any segments between the two airport!

Obviously, JFK-LAX or the reverse is a transcontinental flight so you could fly on an A321T for now in business and receive a lie-flat seat. AA operates some flights between LAX and MIA with a Boeing 777 or 787 which would result in a lie-flat as well.

Crediting to BA
840 TP Route (Cost per TP - $1.6310 or 1.29 GBP)
640 TP Route (Cost per TP - $2.1406 or 1.70 GBP, which is higher than the $2 USD I strive for, but it may be worth the "premium" to earn a large number of tier points in one trip)

Alaska Airlines
Depends on Routing and Price
OGG-PHX-JFK-GEO-JFK-LAX-OGG - 15025 Miles Flown - 22537 Elite Qualifying / Redeemable Miles (Cost per EQM - 6.0789 cents USD - fantastic!!)

Google Flights
GF isn't displaying all available dates, especially OGG-GEO. You'd be better off searching in ITA Matrix, but I'll provide a few links as examples to get you started!

OGG-LAX-CLT-MIA-GEO-MIA-LAX-PHX-OGG - What a route! Very creative. Nearly 2/3 of the way to gold. That's awesome and a fantastic price per tier point! Thanks for sharing and the compliment!

If anybody is crediting this to Iberia Plus, you can fly PHX-MIA or LAX-MIA since the mileage thresholds are different. It doesn't matter that PHX-MIA is less than 50 miles short of 2k miles, you'll receive 225 Elite Points. MIA-GEO is also less than 50 miles short of 2k miles and you'll receive 225 Elite Points for that segment as well.

I found a couple dates sub 1,5k USD in September, however, those all route through MIA to GEO, which makes the TP earnings worse as that is just below 2000 miles. Nevermind, I just found a way to 920 TP in the matrix by going OGG-LAX-PHX-JFK-GEO-JFK-MIA-LAX-OGG. Just search for oneways in the matrix, departing both ways on a tuesday.

I still see a few working dates in ITA Matrix. Unfortunately Google Flights isn't particularly helpful with this fare. At a minimum you can find OGG-LAX-MIA-GEO and back at a reasonable price.

It might be easier to search for a one-way in both directions, then once you have found something in both directions put it together and book as a round-trip.

Any idea what MIA-GEO earns in QFF? The only Georgetown in their calculator is GGT at Bahrain (apparently)
I am toying with a trip in October as my status year resets end of September. Prices a bit higher but not outrageous

MIA-GEO is 3 miles shorter than MIA-PHX, so likely about 100 status credits for a single segment and 3125 QF points (so a roundtrip would be 200 credits).

EDIT
Interestingly OGG-LAX earns 80 credits while OGG-PHX earns 100, so I guess route OGG-PHX-MIA-OGG to earn the most status credits (300 in each direction of travel). Or OGG-LAX-PHX-MIA-GEO to earn 320 credits in each direction of travel.

I booked this a couple of weeks ago flying OGG-HNL-LAX-MIA-GEO for 506. Should get me BA Gold for the very first time 😁

I found when using Kayak if you put OGG-HNL then HNL-GEO as a multi city it would often throw up more availability, though the OGG-HNL sector is non-earning of course.

$2106 for May travel, even more for positioning -- still worth it to get to GGL?

I did a lot of flying during the last year and was on track to exceed 2500 BA Tier Points by July 8, which has been the end of my earnings year. Then I realized I could get to 3500 TPs if I broke up a June Europe-Asia trip into two round-trips, ARN-AUH on RJ and AUH-CGK on Srilankan. But getting to 5000 for GGL did not seem realistic until I saw this thread. Unfortunately by the time I saw it -- only a few days after people were reporting $1500 deals for flights within the next few weeks -- the lowest fare I could find in May was $2106 for HNL-LAX-JFK-GEO RT (840 TPS). (Starting from OGG instead of HNL produced the same results. A $1960 fare was available with HNL-LAX-MIA-GEO on the outbound, but this would have meant sacrificing 100 TPs.) Then I looked at positioning from LFT to HNL, and those flights are even more expensive. I could have flown MSY-SEA-HNL RT (560 TPs) on Alaska for about $2000, but a 7 a.m. departure from an airport 120 miles from home did not appeal to me. So I bit the bullet and booked LFT-CLT-LAX-HNL RT (640 TPs) on AA for $2443. Ordinarily 1480 TPs would not be worth anywhere near $4500 to me, but BAEC's transition to a fixed April-to-March earning year means that any TPs I earn between April 1 and July 8 will count both for this year and for next year. So essentially I get almost 3000 TPs over the two earnings years: 1480 to put me over the top for GGL through March 2025, and then another 1480 which, along with my June business trip to Europe and Asia, will put me very near the 3000 TPs I need to retain GGL until March 2026. I know there would have been less expensive ways to do this -- for instance, three extra AUH-CMB-CGK round trips would have earned 1680 TPs for a cost of about $3100, and 6 LGA-XXX-XXX-RDU round trips would also have cost about $3000 -- but these itineraries would have been even more inconvenient and time-consuming than flying to Honolulu and then to Guyana and then back again. Besides, I'll get to spend four days in Waikiki and two days in Guyana, mostly using free hotel nights. Many thanks to the OP and others on this thread for showing the way.
