Excellent price for Oz, nice find. Worth noting to avoid the 777's much older business class seat.

Thanks! The 787 operates the flight from AUH to SYD on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and from SYD to AUH on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. Other days are operated by the 777.

Unfortunately, I think QR are past the point of matching competitor fares, especially to Australia, their planes are chock full.

GF shows the low fare only available from Gotogate. When you click through to their site the price more than doubles.

Then use Google Flights or ITA Matrix to find a date that works and head to Etihad's website to book. You can find the same price there. See the first screenshot in my first post.

Google flights doesn't appear to show any of the cheap fares. Would have been clearer if you just posted a link directly to the EY site

Sorry you are having trouble with Google Flights. I do see discounted dates. There might not be an many as ITA Matrix displays available, but I do see some.

I didn't link to the airline's website because it's usually easier to search around for different dates using Google Flights and the big issue is that most airlines, including Etihad, don't allow deep linking to an actual flight search. Your link doesn't go anywhere because I don't have your session data. I see either a white screen or HTTP 503 error.

But have you clicked through to the OTA to see if the fare is actually available?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great fare but booking direct with EY looks the best bet (not certain which OTA matrix gets directed to). Another couple of issues: return leg often has long AUH layover, and the cheap fares look to be mostly the B777 services (which I recently flew and are nowhere near as good as the 787)

I have not clicked through to the OTA's because this can be booked direct with Etihad.

There are many dates that this works on the 787. Here is April and May to provide an example.

Grabbed one of these last night, with an additional 50 off using the International Airlines programme on the Amex portal 2,095. Looks like I'll be seeing a lot of Etihad over the next couple of months!! Now......how to get to Vienna on the cheap
