Smile SV: MNL - VIE / 750 € / Business (Oneway)

Hello, for the route Manila to Vienna with the Saudia there are good prices from 750€, Oneway. However, similar prices are also available to Milan and Manchester.

FYI deals from Manila to Europe are almost always 2k and under RT (look in pesos). They even have travel fares (like physical booths) that offer deeper discounts both online and in person twice a year. Only downside is connecting through MNL is brutal, one of the worst connections in the world.

Why is that? I've never had an issue except sometimes the connection is an overnight connection.

Have you ever connected between terminals? Have you ever flown on PAL internationally?

Not for a while....and yes. I fly IN usually to the same terminal I'm departing from (on a cheapish J ticket) the next day. Walk across the Skyway/Skybridge (whatever its called...) and check in to a hotel... Do I LIKE the airport...no. But its a lot better than it used to be...and some of the fares out are hard to resist...

Okay so you are only talking about terminal 3, which is by far the best terminal and NOT where PAL flies out of. Terminal 1 is the oldest and PAL flies to certain NA destinations and the ME from there. It is still a horrible gong show of 30+ wheel chairs every flight, extremely crowded lounges with no amenities, and awfully long security/immigration lines. Terminal 2 is the PAL only terminal and is absolutely the worst terminal. The lounge sucks, there is no space in the terminal because it's packed to the brim, no one knows how to line up, 30+ wheelchairs every day, and security/immigration lines are even worse than terminal 1 on average. During peak times like holy week you might even need to wait an hour to get into the airport unless you have that bribe prepared for the airport security manager.

Terminal 3 (the one you're talking about) is the newest and the easiest to navigate. Most of the problems in MNL are associated with PAL and immigration/security so you don't really get to see it as much there.

Sadly, T3 (the terminal at the end of the walkway to Resorts World/Newport City) is not the airport. It's just one of the terminals that make up the airport. The other terminals are awful in just about every respect.

Sure, it is bad but I would not portray it as a showstopper. Flew out of MNL many times via different terminals - arrive a bit earlier as usual just in case queues for immigration are long; there is a skyway now and so a cab/car drive from Manila centre wasn't too bad last time in the evening (although during day time 10 km from EDSA to centre took me an hour). As for self-connecting - yes that they have 3 international terminals that are totally separated and force you to go landside if you arrive at a different terminal is a nuisance. But then with self-connecting I would not take the risk doing that on the same day at any airport (or only with say 8 hours of difference). Too risky otherwise in case of flight cancellation, delays, and so on.

If it's the A321 than probably not. Those are recliner seats with very deep recline, that are fairly comfortable but not good for sleeping.

JED VIE and RUH VIE are operated by standard A320-214, so no lie flat.

" They even have travel fares (like physical booths) that offer deeper discounts both online and in person twice a year. "

Can you tell us more about the physical booths travel fares twice a year? like where? when?

I took advantage of a EY flight from MNL to Europe and was overall pleased with the experience (although the extended time for buffer was a bit of a bummer )
