BA - LGW-CFU/SKG - 106 GBP / $135 one-way - Business

British Airways - London Gatwick (LGW) to Corfu (CFU) or Thessaloniki (SKG), Greece - 106+ GBP / $135 one-way at the end of October / beginning of November 2023. Unfortunately a roundtrip ticket is much more than double this amount, but I thought I'd post this one-way because it might help somebody trying to setup a multi-city tier point run.

You can fly from secondary airports in the UK (EDI, ABZ, JER, MAN, GLA, NCL, etc.) starting at 187 GBP / $239, but you'll likely have a change in airport when you get to London from LHR / LCY to LGW.

You must book by November 30, 2023, but I'd expect this fare to be long gone by then! Obviously this is Eurobiz - nothing fancy! Posting for the tier point earning potential!

Thanks! It looks like quite a few cities in Greece work, but many will not display the lowest one-way price in Google Flights Explore view.

If you're doing this for the tier points, obviously you're looking for the lowest cost per segment, which is a flight to Corfu (CFU).
If you're going to credit this to another oneworld program that uses mileage flown, like AA or AS, then you're looking for the lowest cost per mile, which is a flight to Rhodes (RHO).

Yes, that's a great plan!

If you're set on earning tier points, you could also get a cheap flight to Bucharest (OTP) and fly back to London from there in business for 128 GBP and earn another 80 tier points for 1.60 GBP per TP. Flights from Sofia (SOF) aren't quite as cheap.

Or another option would be to buy a cheap roundtrip from London to Greece and nest a BA business class roundtrip from Greece to London inside. This is cheaper if you buy two one-way flights - Greece to London and London to Greece.

You'll only earn 40 Tier Points, but you can also fly one-way to Dubrovnik, Croatia (DBV) for 109 GBP

Great deal. One way booked to SKG for £110 in CE and then returning in ET for £70 from SOF the day after as I would only need another 20TP to get me across the line to renew GGL. Thanks!

It looks like it does, but not for commercial flights. The nearest airport with commercial services is Humberside (HUY). Not sure what that has to do with this thread.

Could also be a way to position cheaply to CAI for one of those fares. Often the flights to CAI from Greece are pretty decently priced on A3 or MS.

Not discounting Skeggie's undoubted charms, but Thessaloniki probably beats the Lincolnshire coast as a November destination.

My inner geek is stumped finding a derivation for the airport's awkward IATA code.

All I can come up with is SaloniKa, Greece.

And that is absolutely correct: look at https://parallaximag.gr/thessaloniki-news/skgairport. The article is in Greek but you can easily use any online translating engine. If you scroll towards the end, there is a paragraph devoted to the airport's modern existence, which starts with the following:
