AF/KL - YQB-JNB - 3272 CAD / $2406 r/t - Business

Air France / KLM - Quebec City (YQB) to Johannesburg (JNB) - 3272+ CAD roundtrip starting in June 2023. These are standard business fares, not the new business light fares, or whatever Air France is calling their new stripped down business fares.

The cheapest flights actually have a bus connection from Quebec City to Montreal, so watch out for that (and I'd avoid that, but that decision is up to you). The flight options from Quebec City start at 3297 CAD. You can also add a free stopover in Paris or Amsterdam on either the way to JNB or on the return. You must buy your ticket in the next two days (fare rules state May 31, 2023).

A few upcoming departure dates to get you started (this deal works on dates beyond this) -
June 5 - 3709 CAD
June 6 - 3322 CAD
June 11 - 3327 CAD
June 12 - 3303 CAD
June 13 - 3327 CAD
June 18 - 3327 CAD
June 20 - 3327 CAD
July 4 - 3328 CAD
July 24 - 3390 CAD
July 25 - 3387 CAD
July 31 - 3390 CAD
August 9 - 3390 CAD
August 10 - 3387 CAD
August 11 - 3390 CAD
August 12 - 3390 CAD
August 13 - 3387 CAD
August 14 - 3292 CAD
August 16 - 3288 CAD
August 18 - 3313 CAD
August 22 - 3292 CAD
August 28 - 3354 CAD

Im planning to go to South Africa roughly December 8-18. Do you expect better sales from the west coast for travel in December? Or is that peak season and I should take what I can find now?

That is heading into summer in the southern hemisphere, so prices are likely to go up as you approach the end of the year, but I don't have a crystal ball to look into and tell you with confidence that fares won't drop between now and December, unfortunately.

For those of you in Western Canada, you can find flights to Johannesburg for as low as 4224 CAD / $3108 roundtrip from Vancouver (YVR) on a combination of WestJet, Air France, and KLM.

The fare rules are basically the same - you get a free stopover and you must book your ticket by May 31, 2023.

The cost per mile flown from YVR is .2025 CAD and the cost per mile flown from YQB is .1805 CAD.

If you can find an award flight from JNB to Canada, on several dates in June you can fly Etihad one-way from YYZ to JNB for 2405 CAD / $1769 (about 2700 CAD less than usual).

I've had a price alert for this for a year, and this is the best I've seen so far (now that covid is over and airfare prices have gone up in general).

I have a script that has been tracking the price for over a year and this is true - it's the lowest in over 12 months.
