AF: LAX - PPT RT Business - $2,880 ($2,488 / AMEX IAP)

I was poking around for flights and I found some dates in November and December for AF business to Tahiti roundtrip. Great deal for anyone looking for a couples trip.

That's an excellent fare. Wish United had some competition on the route from SF-- don't think I've ever seen sub-$5k on the nonstop from SFO, though for awhile it was ~$2k for a 1-way PPT-SFO.

That is a really good price for a long flight. How does it work out for MQDs, etc... Assuming its 8220 miles round trip, is it really only $3288 MQD?

I went December of 2021 after booking saver J space on AF. Remember this is their summer so hot and humid and their rainy season. I lucked out with little rain.

It is also available as a 1 way for 1/2 this price ($1400). Spend a few days and then continue on to SYD via AKL with Air New Zealand for 1200 more... (or stay in AKL for $868).

If you're wanting to get to SYD, in addition to AF/NZ, SB offers decent one way fares (from November at least) on Fridays, flying LAX-PPT-NOU-SYD (with TN and QF) for $US2.5k, which isn't bad for transpac in J in the current market...

Correct, I show its as 8190 miles RT, this would generate 12,286 MQM, $3,276 MQD, and 18018 Skymiles. Give or take a little. If you're doing it only for the MQD's you're better off doing the CPT/JNB flight with VS in econ delight.

May I ask how to interpret this? GFS is saying $2,880 is a typical price ? And even suggests a price below $2,550 will be considered a good deal ? And that AF has previously offered fares at or below $2,550 ?

Very few data points. Cost between $2550 and $6500... that's a ridiculous range.

It's similar to how the Zillow Estimate for outlier houses immediately changes to whatever the sales price is, no matter how disassociated from reality the sale actually was.
