BA First Class / YVR-JNB $4,610 USD. Stopover in LHR can be had for a reasonable add on surcharge (probably due to security fee).

Thanks, I booked an itinerary with several days in JNB, and then a several-day London stopover for $5081.68 USD.
The YVR-JNB (connecting in LHR) part of the itinerary is split class:
- J in their A350 (it’s the newish Club Suites product, with doors; the highest class on that plane.)
- F in their A380
Then the flight from JNB-LHR is F in the A380 again, and finally several days later from LHR-YVR is F in a 777, with a connection on Alaska from SEA-YVR (an E175).
It was actually kinda tricky to book. When clicking through from Google Flights to BA, BA would say “First Class was not available for some flights” and put me in Economy instead. The only way to get around this was to do a manual multi-city search on BA’s website with the itinerary I found from Google Flights, and for any city pairs with connections that partially included a flight without F (such as the A350) I had to break those out into their own pairs in the search. Then I’d manually select J for the A350 and F for all the other segments. Took a bit to figure that all out.
Also, the price Google Flights would show when selecting the last flight of the itinerary is actually more money than the (correct) price it would show on the final Google Flights itinerary page. Weird.

Alaska 100K member gets 175,848 RDM and 62,064 EQM for about .028 CPM if booked in F Class ($320 more). CPM is about the same if booked in A Class.

Also I think as 100k you only get 135,486 RDM in F. Its 20688 miles RT*6.5 (500% for BA F and 150% for 100k).

Because I also count the threshold bonus miles that AS gives us. Now we get 100K on the first 100,000 miles actual miles. On this fare this equals 20,688 miles based on my yearly travel pattern of 100K actual miles.

Can't remember off the top of my head how AA/BA codeshares credit to Alaska.
But you can play around with connection in the USA to get F to LHR, in the sample below LAX BA 380 and DFW AA 77W...
