CDG-PUJ Ł1036 - out on AC back on EW

I'm not sure if this one has been flagged before but I just booked this. Out via YUL (connecting to PUJ in Air Canada Rouge economy). Back on Eurowings via FRA.

Has been posted before.
You can do everything on AC metal in C for this price if you want and on a few select dates you can find AC lie flats even for the leg YUL-PUJ so Rouge can be avoided with some searching.

Quite limited availability using google flights but much better options with Expedia.
There’s at least one daily flight on a 787 from Montreal to Punta Cana so with a lie flat rather than the Ac Rouge option

I did quite a bit of searching but I couldn't find the proper business class for the flight down from Montreal. Not on any dates that worked for me anyway.

Interesting that PUJ is both Punta Cana and Paulding County Northwest Atlanta airport about 30nm NW of ATL.

Just spent two seconds on Google Flights, probably can be improved... Mix of codeshares in Z/P and an ugly layover on the outbound...

Seems like a wonky connection in GVA. I didn't realize AC and AF had any sort of agreement in place

In that case it's a LX codeshare on GVA-CDG...

A bit better for a few more euros, Paris to Punta Cana from €1261. These book into Z/P class. The TATL have SN codeshares but if not mistaken underlining metal counts for codeshares.

P class from Paris to Montreal (200% to Aegean) 150% to United and 100% to Lufthansa. 13768, 10326 and 6884 miles respectively.
Z class from Montreal to Punta Cana (200% to Aegean) 175% to United and 150% to Lufthansa. 7516, 6576 and 3758 miles respectively.

I found quite a few possibilities for the spring but I have other stuff planned then. I'm booked for 6 weeks later in the year once the hurricane season is done. The 4 hour flight on Rouge is a bit annoying but nothing to get upset about.

The AC routing has always been of interest for me. I've used a similar to book FRA-YYZ-PUJ and back directly from AC a while back. But this time around the lower prices are only available through an OTA. Is there any way to know that the ticket you're looking to purchase is on AC Stock (014) before you purchase? Obviously anything booked directly from AC but what if its from an OTA?

Normally with only AC segments you would assume 014 stock, but in several cases I've seen these fares with SN codes TATL even on AC metal so you might end up with a different ticket stock...

I have an Air Canada ticket starting 014 but Brussels flight number CDG-YUL, Air Canada flight number YUL-PUJ and Lufthansa flight numbers on the way back.

Just a word of caution on booking AC fares with OTA. I had hard tlme getting legitimate re-routing with IRROPS in summer. And chaning date/time on return segment fully within fare rules was a total no-go. Expedia agents useless and AC would not touch it.

I'm curious. How did you solve the problem eventually?
