TK MEX-KUL J class R/T USD$2,169
Fare codeTK JV2BX74 FREE STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE PRICING UNIT - 2 IN EACH
DIRECTION IN TURKEY/NYC/CHI/HOU/WAS/LAX/BOG/PTY.
1. Is this J class R/T MEX-KUL USD$2,169 a good deal? I also noticed J class R/T MEX-MNL USD$2,373.
2. I can't find anything from other AREA 1 airports close to this price, can you find any?
3. Anyone know how to make use of these other non-Turkey free stopovers DIRECTION IN NYC/CHI/HOU/WAS/LAX/BOG/PTY while maintaining the fare price?
4. Noticed that for one of the leg, Business J Class is cheaper than Economy Class. Business J Class fare is MXN 21,135 while Economy fare costs more at MXN 22,488 and MXN 24,655.

The price alone is excellent, but the rather horrible itineraries (6+ if not 12+ hours in IST each way, 3am arrivals into MEX and 5am departures from MEX on some days) make this a significantly less appealing fare/deal.

Saw this fare already last year in late Summer and found it extremely competitive, if you consider how much lie-flat time you actually get out of this ticket! Then it disappeared. Great to see it being back. Important also: it also "semi-flexible", which makes this offer even better. Think 250USD per ticket for a cancellation. That's a very good offer compared to others. I would, however, try to maximise the time in IST to a) get some time for IST and b) get some rest. Two +10 hrs flights in a row is a lot to take in. Afaik though the TK offer for free hotels and city trips doesn't apply for the MEX and/or KUL routes. I took a look at this last year and recall being disappointed that exactly that one wasn't possible. Either way, still a fantastic offer when looking at the ct/mile ration. And don't forget it credits c. 25,000 miles (or more) in most Star Alliance programmes, which is half the way to to gold for many.
