Amex usually has prices similar to that of the airline sites, not these more obscure OTAs...

In response to post 18 regarding VS lounge: Same here, I had two SQ 25 business class flights out of JFK this summer and was able to use the VS lounge on both occasions. Decent showers and good food offerings, I remember I had a curry on both occasions and enjoyed it. Having said I think I read somewhere that this arrangement was about to be terminated.

Yay! Unfortunately, the A380 gets pulled from the route May 15, 2023, according to OMAAT.

Now if you can get this rate all the way to SIN, that would be an even better deal, which did happen a few short years ago. I remember getting a quick shower in between the fairly quick connection at FRA in the AC lounge.
Ah yes back in 2019 when they accidentally allowed SIN stopovers on a JFK-FRA sale fare and so everyone was booking JFK-SIN-FRA / FRA-SIN: [PREM FARE GONE] SQ JFK-FRA(Eco)-FRA-SIN-JFK (Bus) from $2008

That was a great fare

But yes, $2k is a normal fare sale for SQ FRA-NYC-FRA ... nothing too unusual here.
