SV INDIA-EUROPE eg:DEL-CDG r/t biz from USD$800

1. SV is a dry airline. no alcohol
2. It's very restrictive and kinda silly fare. I don't fully understand it but somehow the start date and end date of the entire journey has to be around 2 days including traveling and transit time. So it's quite possible you could be spending more time on the plane and at the airport than on European soil. So, it's not very flexible at all.. I cant think of many people who would be interested in this fare.
3. I can't see anything stated in the fare rules that state there is a maximum stay of two days? Anyone can find a way to make this fare to be more flexible and traveler friendly? Not to mention SV's very long layovers.
4. It should work from other Indian airports like DEL BOM and to other European airports like LHR, CDG, FCO, FRA, MUC etc... price might vary

Saudia (SV) IE6MIN DEL to RUH

You know the reason why it only allows two days? Because you are connecting in Paris (24 hours max) to get from Delhi to Riyadh.

Fare 1: Carrier SV IE6MIN DEL to RUH
Fare 2: Carrier SV IE6MIN RUH to DEL

It only allows stopover in Saudi Arabia.

Silly fare and routing confirgurations indeed.

Knowing SV, I honestly think this silly fare rule is unintentional from their part. However, one obvious way to get around this silly fare rules is something like this... but I think this section of the forum forbids me for saying the word and going into any further details. I will just post a screenshot here.

SV has a history of weird routing. There have been fares that allowed to route via NYC and fly in J maybe even F.

It's a bit of carelessness in permitted routing with unintended consequences - really nothing to do with fare rules about length of stay. Delhi Riyadh is an exceptionally low one-way fare, which a glitch allows you to access via transfers in Jeddah and some European cities. 24H is the time limit for a transfer.

It's a replay of a similar glitch a few months' back. Sooner or later, probably sooner, it will get corrected. In the meantime it's a neat way to get from Delhi to London in comfort.

I'm not sure how much more specific the title of this thread could be. It's an oddball fare from Delhi Riyadh via Jeddah and Paris/London etc. You have a maximimum 24hour turnround in Europe: if you miss the onward connection from Paris to Riyadh you're stuck in Paris……..quel dommage.

Sometime you need to do a bit of work yourself on Google/Matrix to find out about availability etc. That way you might find out you can get a fiendishly complicated round-trip DEL CDG(etc) … with a holiday in beautiful Riyadh on the way (). All in all, not the most useful of fares …..unless you are looking at the opportunity to earn miles, or see an attraction in the one-way opportunity between India and Europe

The fare I mentioned is long dead. Most likely you can find a Thread on it. I just have it as an example that it isn't the first time for SV. They honored it last time.

Very interesting! It seems like the only way to force ITA to show the fare is to add the exact flight numbers to the 'Routing Codes' box? Thank you!

Honestly, Google Flights Multicity works well for these... Sends to an OTA at $524 versus $485. This is a sample just before Christmas... Luggage could be an issue since I suppose it would be tagged to London or would it be tagged JED-LHR-RUH?

Google Flights

You would need a multiple entry visa, since it's a brutal layover on the way to London and of course your destination was RUH... Funny thing they operate two LHR-RUH flights with 40 min between them on 12/25. Is LHR-RUH that popular? 🧐🤨

A few months ago there was a AUH-NYC-RUH but I think they plugged that one in ...

A 10 hour layover in JED isn't brutal at all. I've spent 18+ hours in the JED lounge (obviously in J). The lounge is perfect for an eight hour layover, and there's an airport hotel operated by Aerotel. Although I cannot see it on Aerotel's website, they have packages for 6, 12 and 24 hours.
And yes, the LHR-RUH route is extremely popular. LHR is a really popular holiday spot for the Saudis.

I saw this from the fare rules
Category 31: Voluntary changes FOR TICKETING ON/AFTER 04DEC 19 IN THE EVENT OF CHANGES TO TICKETED FLIGHTS ANYTIME WITHIN TKT VALIDITY CHARGE SAR 350.00 FOR REISSUE OR HIGHEST FEE OF ALL CHANGED FARE COMPONENTS - CATEGORY 19 DISCOUNTS APPLY AND

Does this means this fare and routing has been around since 2019 and SV has not realized it ?

SYSTEM DATES - CREATED 18SEP22/0609 EXPIRES INFINITY
This is from expertflyer routing.
In this case they might have copied it from another fare. Unless this fare was around pre-covid and they revived it.
As mentioned before SV has done this before.
This is what it used for routingPUBLISHED RTG DEL-RUH/SV1 /TAR-MERG EF-01OCT22 DIS-INDEF
