Thanks for the info on this and related fares from NYC area to CGK.
I had specific dates I had to be in Indonesia so may not have the best deal but still worked out well in my opinion anyway ($2670 USD all fees/taxes included). I also opted for better connection times (less stress) and airports I am familiar with or which seem to have fewer issues (now and in the past).
Chose EWR -(UA) SEA -(NH) NRT -(NH) CGK outbound and CGK -(NH) NRT -(UA) LAX -(UA) EWR inbound. I added Canada to EWR using flight pass credits I need to use before year end and I have a short hop to Bali DPS from CGK for $200 which works well into my schedule.

This is a great fare and has a lot of routing flexibility (I've booked a few with 14 segments). It is discussed in depth in https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/prem...-business.html.
Is there another bigger and more detailed discussion thread on this NH/UA.*A fare NYC-CGK via TYO ?

Saw the double stopovers on some Facebook post, here is a sample with Stopover in Tokyo and Seoul with a day in Jakarta...
Probably can be improved, it has UA across the Pacific on the return and it seems Asiana runs a recliner 330 between CGK-ICN...

Can someone help me understand this ? I dont speak Aeroplane language.
1. What does RTG means ? and TAR-TPRAG means?
2. Why does this published fare is $2,300 while we can only see $2,475+ (as indicated from the title of this thread). Is $2,300 the travel agent's discounted fares ? The Consolidator's fares?
3. I am going to take the first route... what does "/" and "-" means? Why sometimes its Airport code and sometimes City code. But there can be other routes as well rite? Why this 9 routes... and
I assume it says DEPART New York City with United Airlines/ANA from Washington - what does that means? Could someone translate into normal human language what does route 1 means? Did it say Mexico ? I cant imagine anyone flying from NYC to Mexico... then to Hawaii then to tokyo then to osaka then find his way to Jakarta... And you can only do one stopover each direction. So everything else will have to be a layover.
4. As shown above .... How does Seoul fit into this route? It doesnt say anything about SEL. Is that list of possible routes incomplete?

I know it's long, but actually reading through it would probably save you time vs re-discovering what has already been discussed there.

NYC-CGK Business: United/ANA $2673
Goes from Nov-June and some dates $100 cheaper (in 2023). But nice flight to grab status on before the holidays. Linked price is $2620. Depending on date selected can mix it up with United/ANA or all ANA.

Sorry for delay in answering. Extra to Bali was a separate ticket in econo $200 on Garuda. All worked out OK. Worst parts of trip were on UA but NH was excellent in every aspect. I had no stopovers that I used for my NYC-CGK ticket. Just showing that I could get creative with leftover credits to hook me up to NYC and travel in comfort on NH/UA even if UA was vastly inferior (my opinion) to NH.

SQ: One Way - CGK- JFK Business $1464
Maybe different enough to remain with the current title though, agreed. Forgot it originated as the inverse.
