AF Business Class J/O BUD ICN Korea Round trip Euro 1450

1. Since this is a Round trip ticket, why are both ways not the same price ? one is Euro 520 the other is EURO 497, exactly the same Fare Rule OS5VUBN9.
2. Why does it seem that flying out of Budapest seems cheaper (seen several deals on this forum), compared to other EU cities? Is it because the BUD airport has low taxes/surcharges? Is it because there is a low cost carrier based in BUD offering competitive price (i dont think so?) ? It cant be a simple less supply and demand ? If the demand was so low, why do airlines even choose to fly that route ?

I wish I knew why Budapest is so cheap. Same thing with Sofia it seems. Im guessing that there is less people in those markets who are inclined to purchase expensive airfare to Asia so airlines are trying to sell anything? Im not an economist so its just a guess.

Prices BUD: I guess that's due to significantly lower purchasing power from those markets, same for SOF.
I would imagine there is some inbound tourist traffic TO Bud, hence airlines such as AF/KL and LH operate feeder flights there - and in order to generate sufficient demand out of BUD pricing needs to be adjusted down. Just a guess tho

Good for us crazy peeps who don't mind positioning to BUD I guess

Or position to PRG or VIE, spend a night and take the nothing short of excellent dirt - cheap service of Regiojet to Budapest (in "business class" for 30something euro, ex-BB first class compartments). For the extra thrifty travellers, take their "Low Cost" offer - the noncompartment coaches are ex-DB first class ones, albeit with rather scruffy interiors

Now that is an idea! Prauge is not "unreasonable" from my location. Thanks for the tip . Any to get to Sofia cheaply?

That is, it. It is also connected to demand out of those markets. As they have a lot of LCC traffic LH for example would have problems filling a plane ex-BUD high price ticket. They can't beat LCC on short haul flights so they induce demand with cheap long-haul flights. You would get people like us positioning to there and you can catch local middle class with cheap fares.

I don't think Hungarian or Bulgarian local middle class could afford even this so-called "cheap" fares, imo it's more for the local Elites or Business travelers.
But i agree that they need to fill these planes like Middle eastern airlines (especially QR) used to do ex-CAI or ex-KRT

What plane does Air France use to ICN? Hopefully not the dreadful 2-3-2 angled seats? Plane is listed as 777-300 (not ER)

Is there something I need to know about O fares? Would be interested if I can get a stopover to work, but despite the fare saying its possible and O availability according to ExpertFlyer, I can only get Matrix to return the Z fare when I force a stopover.

when i checked flightaware AF264, it says Boeing 777-300ER. I "think' (cant confirm) its the 1-2-1 new business class suites, with sliding door, reclined to full flat bed. It's stated in google flight search as "individual suite". at least for this AF264 March 29th..But if you select a different date, say March 2nd AF264 it says Angled Flat Seat, which i suspect is the older 2-3-2 configuration. i suspect sometime towards end of March 2023, AF is expected to be changing upgrading its plane for the ICN route with their newest business class suite offering.

https://www.google.com/travel/flight...dAuD4y51qWxNK7 (March 29th - individual suite)
https://www.google.com/travel/flight...GgXsqsqSMFrEb7 (March 2nd - angled flat seat)

Think it is supposed to be the new layout with doors as the seat map on Air France doesn’t correspond with anything that is published for their 773. Cuttremtly they are flying then2-3-2 angled flat seats, so for me it’s too big a risk that they new installation takes longer and it’s on angled seats
