AA: DTW/MSP to SCL from $1248 (Business Class)

Pretty nice sale from Detroit and Minneapolis to Santiago de Chile with American Airlines via Miami or New York-JFK. Some options especially on the return require a JFK-LGA airport change which works wonders for a Hidden City opportunity.

Thanks for this! I found June dates MSP-CLT-JFK-SCL and return (440 BA TPs) for $1658. Nothing in the $1200-1300 range for June, at least as far as I could tell.
Google Flights does NOT show as many options as AA.com which I hadn't realized. I have $900 in unused AA vouchers and this seems like a great way to use them.

Others have reported finding this fare in 2023, but I found nothing after October 31, 2022. Was hoping to find something for winter or spring break.

Stopping in CLT on the way to MIA is not too efficient, even worse for those of us who need positioning flights.

Would love to do this trip, but the 2 long layovers are a deal-breaker. Too bad since the fare is decent and SCL is such a great starting point for so many destinations in Chile.

Anyone know what fare bucket this books into?

What’s a hidden city? I may hop on this deal. Long layovers since I have no permanent home anymore are fine by me!

Hidden City means you could skip the final segment especially since sometimes it required a JFK to LGA transfer.
Airlines don't like if you do it often but once in a while is okay 😉😉

fare works in reverse also

Too bad this fare just popped up when I finished the booking of my 60 day south America trip...Don't feel like I want to go through the process of rearranging everything so I guess I'll pass...

Matrix was showing I class but I might be just tired but think I saw C class as the fare on AA.com 🥱🧐

Can route SLC-LAX-MIA-SCL as well. Better TP earnings and get the lie flat for two segments.

This is great deal. Thanks OP :)
