I tried to get CDG-SIN-AKL-SFO-CDG on amextravel.com for $4312. Anyone has better result. Must take CDG-SIN on Jul. 3rd and remaining are kind of flexible.
But I do not need AKL and use it as connection for SIN-AKL-SFO which might be the reason of higher price. Any good suggestion?

I believe it said up thread that you had to stay a minimum of 10 days in AKL for the fare to apply. So only a stopover would jack the price.

Anyone manage to price this with QF on a SYD-LAX segment? I'm guessing the main difficult part is finding P availability on the initial outbound flight?

For the PNC60FR fare to AKL via Atlantic/Pacific there are routing restrictions which limit possible carriers:

/VIA THE ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC/
MAP CONSTRUCTED LEFT TO RIGHT AND RIGHT TO LEFT
1. PAR-LH/EN/4Y-ZRH/VIE/MUC/GVA/FRA/DUS/CGN/BRU-LH/EN/4Y-ZRH/
VIE/MUC/GVA/FRA/DUS/CGN/BRU-LH/4Y-YYC/YVR/YUL/YTO/YOW/YMQ/
WAS/TPA/SJO/SFO/SEA/SAN/PHX/PHL/ORL/NYC/MIA/MEX/LAX/LAS/
HOU/DTT/DFW/DEN/CUN/CLT/CHI/BOS/AUS/ATL-UA/NZ/LH/AC/AA/4Y-
YVR/SFO/RAR/PPT/LAX/HOU/HNL/CHI-UA/TN/NZ/LH/AC/AA/4Y-AKL

Interestingly, the YQ surcharge section in the fare rules for both the CDG-AKL and CDG-SYD fares seem to be identical.
But on an itinerary to SYD I get : Carrier-imposed surcharge (YQ) AU$2,813.40
This compares to the YQ for a similar itinerary to AKL of AU$385.10

Both fares include the clause:
THIS SURCHARGE IS ONLY APPLICABLE WHEN TICKETS ARE
SOLD IN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN.
but fare rules are so convoluted that I don't know if the SYD fare is incorrectly applying the fuel surcharges or the AKL fare is incorrectly leaving them off.
The bottom line is a $AU4200 Fare CDG-USA-AKL return becomes $AU6800 if SYD is substituted for AKL

Bugger... I do know the routing rules for the SYD fare allow QF but I also do think that the YQ is getting weird. It doesn't seem to be so much an issue when the open jaw is applied CDG-AKL/SYD-CDG or v.v.

You can certainly get the QF flight but even if you do CDG-USA-AKL//SYD-USA-CDG the total fare goes up $AU1600 (most of that YQ) compared to doing CDG-USA-AKL-USA-CDG.

Itinerary details

Cost per passenger (including taxes & fees) A$5,841.77 Total cost for 1 passenger A$5,841.77

Substituting AKL-ORD for SYD-LAX brings the fare down to $AU4200

Same thing happens if you route via Asia on the return - YQ goes up $AU1200 if you substitute QF for ANA on SYD-TYO. This is not isolated just to QF flights though - if you substitute UA for NZ USA-AKL you get the same YQ jump.

Trying the following
CDG-YVR Aug 31
YVR-AKL Nov 20
AKL-SIN Dec 2
SIN-CDG Dec 21
Google flights show about $3k us but after I pick the first flight, it jumps up to $3400 us. After picking that flight, it now shows “separate ticket” options at $11k. I have some flexibility for some of the dates and I did try moving a them, but same general result. Any suggestions?

$3000 is the P fare both ways, $3400 P one direction, Z return. $3800 Z both ways

For your dates I can get $3800 on both gotogate and Orbitz via skyscanner

Ticketing Options

How are you all getting these ticketed? I have booked one through United, but the link no longer works via Google flights. Multi-city options with LS/LX don't work and Expedia ups the fare.

Ideally online, but I could call if absolutely necessary.

I did do that. I do see the CDG-YVR has P. I see LH/LH via FRA and both segments has P and also LH/AC via overnight in FRA also having P departing 8/29. Both showing $3800 still. I'm assuming the NZ flights should be looking for Z or J. I also made sure the returning segment from SIN-CDG has P as well.
