The routing rules are in note 21 above. There are no routes that include stops in ME or South Asia; the closest stopovers to MLE look to be SIN or BKK.

I’ve booked a bit of a crazy trip for Thanksgiving with this fare. Gets me 2 sectors on the LH 748 upstairs that I’ve always wanted to do. Came out at £2,950 on Expedia UK.

CDG-FRA-ORD 11/23
ORD-AKL 11/27 (4hr 30 layover then…)
AKL-SIN 11/29 (7hr layover then….)
SIN-FRA-CDG 11/29

Have the 24hr cooling period, any way to cheapen it? Thanks

One of the conditions of the discounted fare is:

Category 6: Minimum stay requirements
TRAVEL FROM TURNAROUND MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER THAN 10
DAYS AFTER ARRIVAL AT TURNAROUND.

So if you were to stay in AKL (or open jaw out of SYD) for 10 days you would knock around £350 off this fare I believe.

BTW, I don't know if this fare is on its' way out or not, but prices increased by £100 across the board yesterday and I'm finding it more difficult to find availability on the dates I'm after.

Managed to get a Flexible fare (250€ cancellation fee) for:
PAR - MIA
MIA - AUK
AUK - HND
NRT - PAR (via ZRH)
All for 3200€ (non cancellable fare was 3'050€). Also managed to book it via LX hotline, meaning I could use E-Vouchers on the legs.

Do you mind sharing the dates you booked? I just checked exact same routing for end of the year and it's coming up $3,657 on Orbitz.

I wonder how you managed to book this via LX hotline. Thankful for any advice. I tried to book via LX hotline myself with an itinerary a bit different from yours: CDG-ZRH-LAX/SFO-AKL-SIN-MUC-CDG but the operator said she was not able to ticket this route. Same with LH Hotline today.

Hopefully Japan opens up. The public in Japan isn't apparently desiring opening back up..

I managed to book CDG-YVR-SFO-AKL-ORD-ZRH-CDG on United. I looked for P class availability on LX/LH and J on NZ (expertflyer). When i pieced it together on google flights a United flight from YVR to SFO meant i got to ticket with them. $2903

Great find! We were already exploring return options this fall from Europe and a January trip to SE Asia. Looks like I can book CDG-ATL-AUK-SIN-CDG for $3100. Question from this newbie... are there any negative consequences regarding United points If I book this through the AMEX portal (to get the 5x points)?

Thanks!

No problem booking through AMEX when it comes to United credit. And it is a good idea, especially since this deal isn't particularly strong for United miles or elite qualification (generating 3,000-3,500 PQP and ~30-33,000 RDM for $3,100, for instance). So those AMEX 5x points are a good bonus.
