There is not an AA fare in the GDS that would result in this final price and the link prices to $3212. This is one of the reasons why I think any post in this forum should include some ground work by the poster that includes the underlying fare basis code. Even if you dont have a subscription based tool, a simple search in ITA Matrix can reveal this. It helps to sort out what is really going on (like those SV fares that were really just regional fares that allowed an embedded RT to the US due to loose routing rules) or fuel dumps (that probably shouldnt be posted here). Anyway, I dont think there is a bookable fare here....

I was briefly able to pull these up on AA about an hour and a half ago. Considering that the price I was seeing has gone up by exactly $2000 I’m thinking the fare was $1000 each way lower than it was supposed to be and has since been fixed. Sadly didn’t book one but I think this was a legit fare that sadly is now gone,

I have now alerted the Mods to the fare being gone, it seemed like a variation of the AA First Class deal to MVD, but since this was in Business Class and to a different country, I posted it.

I assumed this fare wouldn't last long so posted it quickly, the search I did was on Google Flights for combos of G3/AA under $1800, that was the only city pair at that price.

There are fares especially on AF/KLM that I know to post the extra details , since I prefer to post Z over O fares.

Here I knew it was probably an I fare, AA code so limited earning on AA , acceptable for partners...

Even as of 408 PM EST
If you search other days on Google , it shows the $1212 fare and then reprices

It was not repricing when I posted the fare....

Here is a similar fare Ex-BOS as of 415 EST... It shows up on Matrix when you search Premium Economy and I can get it priced on AA.com

Wow, definitely some things working on AA. What has AA done ;-) Misloaded it's own fare...

"VVI is DEFINITELY on sale"

Ex-PHL... didn't know they had 777s on PHL-MIA!

I went through to pricing on AA.com and it is showing me GLN2ASR1 and/or MLN7ASD1 as the fare basis codes. I put in my family of 5 so it was bumping to a slightly higher fare basis. With the fare basis code I was able to find this in the GDS. These are legit as can be. Not sure why Matrix cannot pull them up, but these are booking in to R class. as the AS"R"1 designation kind of implies.

So if you want to build something special with ITA Matrix you can specify bc=R in the Extension Codes field. Seems to allow cheap stopover in US gateway, but not in GRU.

Even CHS is getting some love. BOS was much better than JFK, 777 instead of 737MAX. Have one that is ticketed so fare is real. Thanks OP!

I have not tried every US originating airport, but let's just say that the fare appears practically everywhere, even HNL and ANC. Everything seems to be in the $1,050-1150 range for the lowest of the bases fare (add taxes of course). There are several sets of fares, O, Q, N and S-up fares which booked into "I" class are generally the cheapest. G, L and V-up fares book in "R" and are a bit more expensive. K and M-up fares book into "D" class. That appears to be the case in most markets. Cheapest I found was $998 S-up base fare. Of course if you are going to route through a place that has a 77W scheduled, recall that "Full-Fare Business with published fares booked in J, D or R" gets you into F without a co-pay.

And here are the transfer rules, you should be able to use the 2 transfers on AA to get yourself the equipment you want.

1 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
ANY COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING -
1 ONLINE ON AA
1 INTERLINE INCLUDING AA
IN SOUTH AMERICA IN EACH DIRECTION.
AND - 1 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION.
1 PERMITTED BETWEEN AA AND AS IN EACH
DIRECTION.
AND - 2 TRANSFERS PERMITTED IN EACH DIRECTION
ANY COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING -
2 ONLINE ON AA
IN AUS/CHI/CLT/DFW/LAX/MIA/NYC/PHL/PHX/SEA/
WAS IN EACH DIRECTION.
FARE BREAK SURFACE SECTORS NOT PERMITTED AND
EMBEDDED SURFACE SECTORS PERMITTED ON THE FARE
COMPONENT.

Thanks OP! Booked one ex-ANC for sub $1300. Going through this thread... so the fare wasn't real when you first posted it but became bookable later in the day?

It was real when I posted ex JFK, then it looked dead so went into hunting mode for all other cities (seems either LGA, EWR, JFK) ran out of space or were fixed, played with ITA Matrix as a challenge since it wasn't showing up.

Added a few sample and then started seeing the trend..

It's an interesting fare and then it was a lovely moment when I realized it was open from just about everywhere.

Then people started to discover the wonders of the fare codes, the Y-Up feature from different codes, etc.

Hi there! How did you find the ANC (or I am also looking for HNL) fare?

i didn’t see it on either google flights or matrix. I’m doing a basic search on matrix. Should I be entering fare class information? Thanks!

how do you find the lowest priced Y-UPs in matrix? Was it just a F BC=S in faring or? Sorry I am not that good yet at finding OW/AA fares. Thanks!

To be honest, I forced the cities MIA GRU and then selected Premium Economy...
I suppose AA+ G3 could also work ...
