LX/OS/UA/AC/AV/LA: AMS to SCL from €1,267

Interesting fare with some interesting routing options (at least with a few searches) between Amsterdam and Chile. It is a Lufthansa P fare but since no Lufthansa group airlines are flying to SCL, it gives flexibility on LATAM, Air Canada or United for Intra-Americas flying.

Wow, this what I call miles for money! Some VERY interesting routings here. Thank you, jfkeze!
With one stopover per direction for € 100, one could do a AMS-BOG(Stop)-SCL(stop)-NYC(stop)-AMS trip for under €1,500. Bargain.
Here's the challenge: What's the maximum amount of miles travelled you can squeeze out of this fare (especially since HIP does not apply for stopovers)?
Anyone able to get this deal ticketed on a non-LH-group carrier for a similar price?

jfkeze Feb 16, 2022 6:44 am

I was able to price on Google Flights (bookable on United so probably 016 stock)

Looking at the fare rules from ITA Matrix I don't see an MPM restriction... I guess it comes down to P class availability?

Think this has been posted before, but never hurts to spread the joy some more. Also works to Bolivia and Brazil (but as far as I am aware not bookable via the US/Canada). I booked Bolivia for EUR 1200.

jfkeze Feb 16, 2022 7:03 am

Oh Bolivia can get to €1,143, I haven't posted yet because I need to explore more, but you can get Boliviana! (in Y), EZE and more...

So ... how far can we push the boat out in terms of miles travelled on this fare?

jfkeze Feb 16, 2022 7:09 am

AMS-FRA-BOG (STOP)- LIM (23 H)- LPB - EZE (STOP) - FRA-AMS

I booked AMS-ZRH-GRU-EZE-VVI + LPB-SCL-GIG-MUC-AMS. Other interesting route was via PTY.

Do you know what are the voluntary cancellation conditions? Does it depend on the stock on which you book this fare? Is any additional Covid flexibility available from carriers on which this fare is bookable?

I guess Ticket stock can cause some differences but in the LH AMS-SCL. So seems like a usual Fly first segment and change (you could either add under 24 hours between the AMS-FRA/VIE/ZRH so it doesn't count as a stopover and aim to try to change at that point

Do we have any indication for the MPM for this fare? My fingers are getting itchy...

mb752 Feb 16, 2022 1:34 pm

Has anyone managed to book or even just price this with a long stopover in the US? Like several months in the US and a week in SCL?

poohfighter Feb 16, 2022 2:24 pm

I've managed to price stopovers in Canada for a bit more money....This is a good pqp run for united mp members

Nice!
It's 20% of Distance if not mistaken? So 19038/5 or 3808 PQPs for a VIE-YYZ-SCL-YYZ-ZRH on AC. The intra Europe adds up to 975 (598+375) also at 20% so 195 or a grand total of 4003 PQPs (give or take?) UA PQP math can be hard at times...;)
