Yes, I'm happy to see that too. MEX has only been very sparseley included in the NA deals.
Slightly OT: Is there really any 'Fun in Acapulco' nowadays?

Any way to avoid that?
Yes, you may choose an other EU hub to start from. Economically speaking, I think you're better off with a hotel night in the LHR proximity (Ł 50) with free bus travel, than the ticket price difference. Another advantage is that you can catch a morning TATL and spare a hotel night at your destination. YMMV, of course.

I was about to book *A in Jan 2021 - UA P class credits at 200% with TP so seemed like a good deal (only LH from SOF I would have credited to M&M), plus one can never get enough vitamin D ... but then, I looked at hotel prices and my jaw dropped ... so basically, a premium of roughly 1/3 more for a bed in an old skyscraper in Honolulu as compared to an at least half-board paradise resort in Maldives ... well, no, thank you, I will pass this one!

I can only see $1400+ to Kona.
Does anyone have better pricing to KOA or neighboring airports?

Also... has anyone been able to successfully ticket this WITH a stopover on the west coast of the US?

I have not seen better pricing than ca. €1260 to any of the airports in Hawaii (ca. €1050 levels are to the West Coast only). Stopovers are not allowed by the fare rules.

An option is an open jaw which is allowed; for instance SOF-HNL / break / LAX-SOF

You'll need to buy a one way from HNL (or wherever) to West Coast only.

Has anyone found a creative way to do a 18+ hour layover on the west coast?
(trying to meet some friends either in LA or SF on the way back...)

Agree! Loved Hawai'i but the prices were just ridiculous - very much a seen it, enjoyed it, but would rather go to somewhere else next time where for the same price I would likely get a lot more bang for my buck.

yea you can certainly build a long layover in LA by including the red eye from HNL and the red eye to JFK in the evening in your itinerary

Has anyone been successful in finding travel dates in the summer with Oneworld from SOF to HNL or OGG? Or in the alternative, does anyone know when this fare expires? Waiting for March 2021 days to (hopefully) load.
