AS: TPA to FAI for $747 and earn 580 Tier Points!
Lucky from OneMileAtATime highlighted a nice sale with Alaska, but playing with schedules you can get an impressive 580 Tier Points or basically oneworld Sapphire status (adding some BA segments) for a bargain rate!
The cons, lots of long flights on recliners and going from Tampa to Fairbanks in the middle of winter, but no pain, no gain, right? The madness in numbers... No 500 Min miles and Avios in I class at 125% of flown distance. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...acb6246951.jpg Book Flights Here! https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...92Jg=w634-h640 https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...Ok28=w640-h404 The following link is a blog/website/social media page in which I have a financial interest. For American Airlines flagship lounges, does oneworld sapphire work just as well as oneworld emerald? No special perks for OWE?
|
Sale is not limited to TPA. Seeing the same fare out of RDU (albeit not as many miles) but if booking for the trip vs. the miles this is a screaming good deal and I'm seeing some availability in September/October of next year when it isn't quite peak winter cold (and maybe even a nice Northern Lights opportunity)
|
Seeing ex IAD and some JFK but haven't played to try to max the segments of those flights....
|
Works in the other direction to (for those in Alaska looking to escape the cold)

Can somebody share their experience about this trip as I am planning for this in Feb 2nd Week. Planning something like this TPA-SEA-ANC-SEA-SFO-TPA . Is the Lounge open in ANC and SEA and how about the services in ANC (look like it will be 6 hours layover in ANC). I wanted to credit this to my AA EQM/LP (double dip) advantage. Any thoughts. .

SEA and SFO lounges are great! Do check the AS lounge hours, when I looked into this flight the ANC layovers seemed to be like 11 pm to 5 am...

I guess the thing for me is that does it beat doing a series of short hops on American instead?

So while you could do a NYC-RDU (via DCA, CLT) and get 120 TPs for $153 see sample below https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5e7b1f80f2.jpg For AA flyers, if not mistaken it's 30% of distance as EQD till End of Month and then longer flights for the LPs You can also get 240 TPs in a day ex-NYC like this https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7b720eb678.jpg |
