Can you share a link at time of payment? My link above worked and showed the price on an OTA but when I added name and tried to add payment details, it gave error message. ..

I book the fare on the AeroMexico Website - Spain edition

et voila - you have to play around with availability on a MEX stopover which raises the price by approx. 100€

Ty that's a very decent alternative. I'll try stick with AM as it's better for my status, and it will avoid having me to get a local flight to MEX. But I'll keep that one in mind in case I need plan B!

sorry to be very blunt, but the tp fare is not much of an alternative as the distance between the destinations are different (GRU vs. CUN), the AM fare earns significantly more miles, and on a different alliance. Can we keep the discussion to the AM fare, please.

That was specific for that poster who wanted to go to MEX and was upset about not having the option.
