Not an AA fare actually, these (many cities in the US, not just LA) are all BA fares as the AA fares were yanked when the ALG-MIA F fare came to light. Not a huge difference other than routing, the BA fares can only use this sort of routing (and there is a LGW to LHR transfer at your own cost).

Here's a previous thread that contains insight on entering Algeria. Some members mentioned the possibility of flying into ALG without a visa if they are transferring to another flight.
This is precovid so I imagine the situation has changed. Still some valuable data points to look into.
