Perhaps a few dumb questions:

1. Can I change both the departing as well as the destinations airport?

2. Do I have to fly before Oct for the change to be valid or only the change has to be before Oct?

Thanks

It says Reissue the ticket on or before 31 October 2021 for travel within system range. So I read this that as long as flights are loaded it can be any date beyond 31 Oct 21. Is this a correct understanding?

It says that only for involuntary rebooking though.

Please don't forget to update us about the change. A friend of mine is thinking about booking this and then changing the departure and arrival point. Does anyone know if by changing, this can be made into an OJ (ex. DXB-HKT MNL-DXB)?

I read also for Voluntary changes:
Option 1b: Exchange ticket: Voluntary changes

Reissue the ticket on or before 31 October 2021 for travel within system range.

Does it mean you can rebook to dates after 31 October 2021?

I didn't think DXB is possible - it has to be AUH

And when it says government-imposed capacity reductions leading does this mean it's possible to use the current travel restrictions as a invol rebook? So could I book a flight for two weeks time, call to rebook , say to BKK, for a later date in 2022 (as long as the flights are loaded0?

You're right because they don't fly to DXB. Rookie mistake

Didn't they bus to DXB in the past and flights were sold as DXB-AUH-XXX? Now I can't get ITA to show anything on EY from DXB.

It also says:
  • No fare difference for flights rebooked until 31 October 2021 within the same RBD / booking class and zone
  • Fare difference to be collected for all other scenarios
So I am not sure how to interpret that but it may mean that you can change the ticket for travel after the 31st October but it would then be subject to fare difference? Not very clear.

I have done it a couple of time already, they are pretty easy going. Just call Etihad and choose option for “Business Class” there’s usually no wait time if you are in doubt

Here’s my summary of the call with Etihad just now:
  • no hold time
  • DOH is in Zone 5 as BAH and JED etc
  • was able to change HKT to KUL
  • December 15th and return to May 4th so DOH-AUH-KUL / KUL-AUH-DOH successfully reissued
  • also confirmed we have until October 31st to make any changes we want for flights until next year without any penalty or fare difference provided it’s in the same zone and same class

hope that clarifies some queries on this forum

Anyone knows why Zone 8 is split in two, and what does this mean for rebooking?
