CCU-YVR Jan 2022 - AI/UK+KE+AC - o/w flex biz US$1200
Interesting fully refundable one-way business fare from Kolkata to Vancouver on Asiana ticket stock (but without any flights on OZ metal). Seems to be available on many days in January 2022. Similar fares may be available sporadically earlier in the schedule. I haven't hunted around much. Just so happens I'll be returning to BC from SE Asia next January (fingers crossed) so it just might work.
CCU-DEL books on AI or UK in Z (Air India credits to AC at 125%, Vistara credits 125% non-AQM)
DEL-ICN books on KE A330-200 in I (credits to AS at 225%)
ICN-YVR books on AC 787-9 (OZ codeshare flight) in C (credits to AC at 150%)
Layovers in DEL and ICN are quite long (7+ and 12 hours, respectively), but are during the day (and in DEL potentially overnight) so good for some tourism. Stopovers are supposedly permissible but I can't make them work.
I ticketed on Expedia, which only offered the CCU-DEL flights on Vistara, whereas Matrix showed only AI. Fare rules visible through Expedia and through Matrix show fully flexible and refundable. OZ charges a refund fee when cancelled directly with them, but Expedia didn't mention it, so if a refund is needed hopefully it won't apply when cancelled through the OTA. I had some trouble getting the flights to show up on Matrix but by specifying the airline codes it worked. No trouble finding the fare on Expedia and other OTAs.

This is an ancient fare which lingers on ... the only restriction on this fare is that you have to use the OZ/AC codeshare across the pacific. You can drag it all the way south to HKG or SIN and west to BOM/DEL sometimes even to DXB.

Yeah, this is one of the last legacy fares still out there, GDS tags suggest it was filed in 2002. I put a bit in the earlier thread about the routing options, largely unbounded except MPM and the overwater requirement. My wife and I booked a crazy one of these that zigged and zagged all over the place to have a bunch of dinners in new cities we had never visited, it was surprising what we were able to pull off.
If anyone who started this MR game in the last decade wants to know what people were doing in the early to mid 2000s then play around this in ITA Matrix a bit with advanced controls and this fare and see how many connections and/or carriers you can pack together as you move from India to North Asia. It is also available originating in a few other much more obscure Indian airports (anyone been to Patna before?).
