Nepal Airlines: KUL to DOH via KTM from $1385

Odd little sale from Kuala Lumpur to Doha via Kathmandu with Nepal Airlines. The dates are in March which is hard to say if borders will be open to say the least.

But it does provide insight into an odd little airline from a stunning country. There are some long layovers on both connections and you can build a stopover. We would recommend doing an Everest flight with Yeti Airlines as it gives you some excellent views.

Nepal had a horrible earthquake five years ago but has been recovering and could use tourist funds. Here is a YouTube video featuring the Airbus 330 from

Love this exotic deal and the fact that they have widebodies with lie flats. But my risk tolerance isn't high enough to deal with unknown refund policies and international borders. Nepal is also politically unstable right now.

Nepal is awesome to visit, but not on this airline (this price is not the best, and there are no useful miles). Sometimes there are exceptional one way deals from KTM to various ports in the US. I'd also recommend visiting Pokhara, especially when its airport start accepting international flights. I spent a few days there ~2 yrs ago, and loved its artsy vibe, somewhat reminiscent of NYC in 1980's but friendly. Great hiking and sightseeing nearby as well.
