Fairly wide availability (although AS is only operating one flight/day between EWR and LAX) from January until early May. Good deal - books into I, recliners.

Also available on select JFK-LAX and vv flights.

You could speculatively book in Q2 or Q3 when AS should be a oneworld member. Over 2000 miles would mean 140 TPs each way...
of course this is dependent on the oneworld/AS schedule not changing which I believe means a 3/31? entry.

To be clear, jfkeze was talking about BA tier points, 600 of which gets you BA Silver, equivalent to OW Sapphire. $270 for 140 TPs, or almost one quarter of the way to BA Silver (the four BA flights required notwithstanding) is a very solid deal IMO.

I understood. You can often get closer to $1/tp on domestic AA routes

With the 75% COS, this is actually a decent EQM rate of $.05 for MP accrual. But yeah, the seat is okay one way for a transcon but maybe not the best for a b2b trip/run.
