Surinam Airways: AMS-PBM lieflat 1438€

Interesting offer for people who want to try something special.
Seems to be operated with an older B777 from Singapore Airlines with lieflat seats.

The review is about the A340 while they have a B777 now...

More broadly does anyone have any good tips on going to PBM from the US.

To me it seems crazy how little air service PBM sees.

I know you can fly to GEO a few different ways, and then us a local airline like Gum Air to fly between the city airports, or take an all day bus/boat/bus route overland.

I would like to visit PBM, but am always amazed how complicated it is to get there from the BOS/NYC/WAS area.

Going via AMS almost seems easier.

Anyone have any first hand experience traveling down there?

...

Suriname Airways flies non-stop from MIA. There are more ideas in the comments at the link I posted earlier.

I travelled there a few years ago when I was living in Panama. I combined it with a trip to Guyana and flew GEO-PBM, then took the overland route back. It was quite the adventure! Since then, Copa has introduced PTY-PBM flights (not sure of the status right now), which would make an easy one stop from BOS, IAD or JFK, and much faster than AMS...

OMAAT did a mini review on the "new" 772. It looks like it has been repainted but is in its original SQ seating configuration. If they have been decently maintained, that is a very comfortable J seat.
