The SCL fare seems the most interesting. As GRU drops to those prices with EU carrier as well. The main drawback from the SCL fare is the very long layover on the way back (18 hours) but it is the whole day so you can make check out mexico city as well. If I hadn't bought the IB SCL fare couple of weeks ago then I would be debating getting the SCL ticket.

Very great find. Tempted for Santiago. MAD-MEX-SCL on a I fare on Flying Blue is 24360 miles (125%). Gold members get 38980 miles (+75%), Platinum members get 43840 miles (+100%).

Buyer beware, the cheapest fare is on lastminute.com which I do not recommend touching with a 6 foot pole, especially now. (they have sub-zero customer service, they do not respond to emails, they have a poor refund record, shall you need to change your flights due to covid they will not process anything for you)

I suggest you all go to the AM site and read their covid flight policies before booking just so you know what to expect if anything gets canceled. IME, dealing AM has been a bit stressful, at best. And excruciatingly stressful, at worst.

That is why we booked GRU, true, simply for the miles and XP. But Brazil has been opened in worse time and flights has been flying. Destination speaks for SCL (personal view) but if Flying Blue won't come with better terms to keep the status next year, GRU is the go.
