Great find. Anyone has any experience with TAPs refund policies? For the basic business "executive" it states no cancellation fees apply for tickets issued in the US (if issued >7 days before travel). TAP representative was not sure if this were the case.

I have been waiting for a refund since April on a fare that allowed a cash refund but also where they cancelled the flights. Have been 2 rounds through with the DOT and they keep saying they will refund then dont. These folks are the worst, don't book until you think there is 100% chance you can fly it.

That said, the fare is amazing. If I knew there would be a fare like this I might have just taken a voucher + 20% that they offered.

Thanks, somewhat expected this as I had TAP cancel my flight in April (not that I could travel) and the only thing provided was credit expiring within a year of the original booking.

One other thing to consider.... this is roughly the same fare for any destination city in Portugal. If you look closely the YQ for LIS, OPO, FNC and FAO is roughly $334. For most other EU destinations it is $1234.

Maybe TP is trying to help boost Portuguese tourism? Maybe the YQ was filed incorrectly?

TAP Refunds
 

I bought a great at the time, ~$1800biz ticket with TAP but the flight got canceled. I read several places that TAP only gives vouchers or credit and not cash refunds. I was prepared with both EC and US DOT regulations and when I called, they said they would give me a credit but when I demanded a refund, per regulations, they said ok right away BUT a refund would take about 3 months! I have been waiting 2 months so far and no idea how long it will really take. But be warned!

We flew them last November SFO-LIS. The experience was fine, but they double charged us for a seat upgrade. I provided them all the evidence of the mistake, clear as a day, even my 8 year old could follow the paper trail and see we were double charged. The TAP representatives insisted I wasn't double charged and told me I could only get a refund by disputing with the credit card company. I corresponded for weeks and never made any progress. Search this site and you'll see many other similar experiences. I've had negative experiences with many other airlines, but never one where they wouldn't give such an obvious refund. This is a great fare, but no way in hell would I risk it.

I stumbled on this fare this past weekend, and almost booked it. You can't beat the price and free LIS stopover, especially for June 2021 travel.

Then I read the TAP forum and found the thread with almost 500 posts discussing TAP refusing refunds or delaying them significantly, many for flights the airline cancelled.

This is great info - thank you. I was going to book a trip in June - but not after all this feedback.
