For 50€ more, a stopover in HKG can be inserted, and BKK-HKG is on CX A330. Very nice fare.

The fair is very much still available. The provided link still provides link still works. If you go though google flights then it decides to place a higher price. Via skyscanner it still provides the 1100 euro fare. Even if you use skyscanner to make a direct booking with AY

Are such transfers at HKG even allowed?

I couldn't see it on Matrix, or Google Flights, but could call it up easily on Finnair's website.

The current rules are that it would need to be on the same ticket number. So I don't see why not.
Reality anyone booking this is booking deep into next year when the rules could be different.

You can see it on Matrix only with (f bc=r). Matrix and GF thinks R is economy on AY.

British Winter in Asia

Maximum duration of a month is a shame for those looking to spend the British winter in Asia.

Otherwise nice fare, especially with a stop in HKG a possibility.

@Sisyphus1carus: What dates do you need? For example, I just looked at 1-week trip in late April / early May 2021 and for a price of ca. €1450 you can fly on any of QR, TK, LX, OS, LH ... See below:
