QR BUSINESS CLASS HEL > DOH return 1044 EUR

This is a great deal to get down into the Middle East. However Helsinki does not offer Qsuite here on its A350-900 on this route, but still a very good way to spend 6 odd hours to the Middle East. This fare will earn you 280 tier points in the BA executive club. Dates for this fare are available throughout 2021. The fare is Business Promo , Class R. You can also book directly on qatarairways.com and can pay more to fly via LHR. This is a great way to pick up more tier points and have access to the Qatar Airways Premium Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 4 if you choose this as well as experience the A350 on Finnair.

Commenting on the opportunity to do a LHR shuffle, at LHR T4 is closed which is where the Qatar lounge is located, and is expected to remain closed for some time, and if rumours are true will probably be the last terminal to reopen at Heathrow. Qatar have just relocated from T2 to T5 to co-locate with BA and an increasing number of other OW airlines and if air traffic does not recover they will likely remain there for quite some while.

The Qatar lounge at Heathrow is probably off limits for quite some while...

Thanks for the post, it is indeed a good fare for a direct flight!

For those interested in the area, you might want to go with AF/KL instead for €895 HEL-DXB in business. Sample dates HEL-DXB 8-17 Jan.

I know the QR T4 lounge is closed as of now, but it still is an available option for later 2020 and 2021 departures when QR shift back to T4 at LHR , also an advantage to do a “LHR shuffle” is more flights have Qsuites available rather than getting the old Business Class and more tier points. Also I highly doubt many people will book travel due to Covid-19 right now anyway.

There is basically zero chance of QR shifting back to T4 in 2020, I think it's already looking ropey for early 2021 now too. Basically travel to the US needs to resume at scale for T4 to be needed, otherwise all LHR flights can be accommodated in the current T2/T5 (and then T3 when that is eventually needed). On the plus side, it's a lot easier to make the connection from AY to QR at LHR whilst both are in T5.

Have a look into this thread too, could be a better option depending on circumstances (ie transit pricing for hotels), but of course you need to waste some time to fly further in eco. Available from HEL too. Not sure to which other cities it is available, maybe shorter routes (in coach) are on a plate too.

Advice how you can book these? Multi-city on QR website or how?

No idea, just Powertools via Priceline probably. Maybe QR can waive phone booking fees (if there any) as this is not bookable online.

Is this supposed to work out cheaper, to use the Europe-Doha and dump the economy leg thereafter?

Not much use as RT if you dump legs since you lose the return. If this K fares allow stopovers I could envision a quick turn at the Area 3 country as part of a trip to Doha.
