FYI the US is not on the list of countries that will be allowed in starting July 1.

Referring to 29 countries as "global" is debatable. Buyer beware.

If I’m reading this correctly, even if you test negative upon entry you’re still supposed to quarantine for 7 days? Not sure I follow the logic there.

I assume aarp discount still works on ba bring it down even more - sub 2k from lax is not bad. Should be nice for AS earning.

I am going to steal a link from @FlyBitcoin to show just how 7 days of quarantine is practically worthless in controlling spread of the virus.

One should read this article (not long) carefully to understand just how easy it is to get infected and spread the virus. The case cited was unique in that the participants were tested covid-19 negative prior to entering the study (literally by getting on the cruise ship :o) and then being isolated from outside sources from that point onward.
And yet, more than 55% tested positive by the end of the voyage.
Bottom line....7 days isn't going to give me assurance that I or my fellow travelers are virus free.

The only good news was that 80% were asymptomatic or mild illness, but one person still died.

For me, the issue is location and time of potential exposure. Long distance flights to foreign countries is still not on my plate of things to do as entertainment no matter what the fare. I am certain medical expenses would eradicate any savings on travel. ;)

As of July 1, the only restriction so far will be random tests done at the airport.

I see ORD-ATH for US $2001.15 starting Aug 4. Looks like it requires midweek departure and staying at least one weekend. On AC metal. Bookable on either the AC or UA website. Fare class P.

Similar deals mid August for JTR (UA/LH) or JMK (UA/LX) for and additional US $170. Also books in P.

Nice fares if you want it for a vacation (assuming you will be able to travel this August).

Phase 3 – 1 July onwards
International flights are allowed into all airports in Greece.
Visitors are subject to random tests upon arrival.
Additional restrictions regarding certain countries will be announced at a later date.

Since I'm not chasing OW status this year, I'm contemplating going with AF one way, KLM the other. Lufthansas business class product is just so underwhelming.
