AA: DCA-MIA $260 first

Don't recommend booking this for travel anytime soon obviously, but DCA-MIA flights are available through November or so for $260 in first. You can route DCA-RDU-MIA-PHL-DCU and earn 160 tier points, which makes this a nifty TP run if you were trying to qualify for BA status (like me) and had a bunch of your flights cancelled (also like me).

Do you have sample dates? Not seeing anything under $559. Thanks.

Interesting, I could only get the price to show up as a same day turn. I wonder if it's because of a bug in the faring, perhaps the fare basis used is DCA-RDU or DCA-PHL and it allows the "connection" in miami, but not a stopover, hence the requirement to not spend much time on the ground in miami..

Edit: DCA-RDU does price at around $260-270 almost every day round trip in first, so I think this is a DCA-RDU fare that allows routing through miami.

This fare is available until next year from the East coast, it is valid for same day return only.

Can even get it to five flights on ITA routing DCA-PHL-MIA-RDU-CLT-DCA. 1.3 cents per TP.

Cracking fare for the TPs!

Any idea if it can be married up with connections on transcontinental legs? I've noticed LAX-MIA earns 210 BAEC TPs but adding it causes a huge price increase.

Edit: potentially not everyone's cup of tea but fare drops to $138 with the 777 component still included if you go IAD-DFW-MIA-RDU: https://flights.app.goo.gl/Fd3iU

I think DFW is about as far out of the way as you can route, unfortunately. The IAD fare is a great find!

Also looks like it works from BOS-DFW-MIA-RDU for an extra $20 or so.

Tempted by it, although is the RDU area worth visiting (without a car)?

I'd originally planned to visit Charleston and/or Savannah later in the year but they don't look very easily accessible from RDU.

My FFP is on QF, so I'm not sure if the status earning on BA is similar.
But it sure does get a ton of status credits.
From BOS-DFW-MIA-RDU-MIA-BOS same day return $328 - (280 Status Credits)
From IAD-DFW-MIA-RDU-MIA-DCA same day return $270 - (260 Status Credits)

Each segment earns 40 BA TPs I believe. I'm starting from 5 so I'd need 8 segments minimum for Bronze and 16 for Silver.

Not really worth it for me but certainly is if you're trying to move Bronze->Silver.

I've been able to get it up to six segments at the same price. DCA-ORD-CLT-RDU-CLT-ORD-DCA. That's 240 TP at £0.89 per point.

Any way to add DFW? Also available from PHL
